I Have Willpower!

Since I doubt you've gotten home to check my diary already, Amanda, you have to go back a day.

Anyway, look at me! Quarter to twelve and I'm home! Despite Jen and Dan's alluring offer (drunk man with a credit card) I stuck to it and said I wouldn't go. Of course, the fact that my parents would have killed me if I even suggested staying out later, and that Gail was also saying that I wasn't going anywhere but home and to bed, didn't hurt either.

The party was majorly fun. I don't think I've had that much fun . . . since the last 'Matress' party, lol. We lounged around, watched the movie making smart ass comments about everyone (and there is now video proof of me acting straight. But I maintain that plays do not count against my gay points total. Don't ask if you don't know: Rick started it). And then we sat around talking for awhile . . . and then Gail kicked us out. Jen and Dan went off to Denny's, I came home, and here I am now, typing with my fun super-long fake nails.

Did I have those on when I did yesterdays entry? No, 'cause I wrote that at Britt's. Okay, I got fake nails yesterday! Woo hoo! They make life a fucking pain though. Typing has taken some getting used to, playing the piano is pretty hopeless, taking out contacts is a precise science and forget tiny clasps on jewelry. I don't know how I got my necklace on this morning, since I haven't been able to take it off or put it on by myself since. But other than that, they make fun clicky noises. Heh, I spent all day today rubbing them back and forth. April and I were contemplating starting a band, she on her water bottle and me on my nails. Good times.

That and the groupies vs. friends conversation. Friends are allegedly better than groupies 'cause groupies just want your booze, drugs and sex while friends avoid the latter and help pay for the former two.

And then there was the slight awkwardness today....

Okay, I'm going to play it safe and refer to this person by a fun nick name (I'm telling you, middle school flashbacks!). We'll call her...Lain (my brother has 'Serial Experiments Lain' on TV, hence the name). Don't worry, I'll tell most of you who Lain is at some point this weekend. Expect a frantic phone call from me Saturday or Sunday night, lol.

Anyway, Lain grabbed me right before we started a run through of the show today, saying she needed to talk to me. She pulled me into the scene shop and had just enough time to say she liked me before a bunch of other people wandered in. Which wasn't a completely bad thing 'cause it gave me a chance to think. See, talking to me five seconds before I need to go on stage, especially about something important like that, is not a good idea. I wasn't quite as focused as I should have been because of it. But oh well. So I told Lain we'd talk later, when there weren't so many people and I didn't have to go on stage.

We didn't get to talk again until the end of rehearsal. When we did get the chance, I felt I had to be pretty honest with her (since a certain someone ~glares at Britt~ wasn't giving me any advice! ;-). I told her about Leila (and now a grand total of...three people know Leila's true identity! And I just realized I appear to have a thing for 'L' names) and how I was just getting my huge crush on her, and how I didn't want to start a relationship of any kind with someone as a rebound or just because the opportunity presented itself. Though I assured her I was quite flattered, 'cause while I don't know Lain very well she seems pretty cool, and no girl has ever told me she liked me before, to brownie points for her there (God, I wish I had her guts!), but like I just said: I don't know her very well. And there's the possible messy rebound issue (I've written/read enough fics to know that doesn't always work out so hotly). So I told her let's wait until MIFA is finished and we both have more time and a hell of a lot less stress. That gives me at least two weeks to consult with all my friends (who will hopefully give me better advice than Britt ;-) and figure out just where I stand on the Leila issue (I'm this close to positive that I'm over her. I can have coherant conversations with her, I don't get completely bummed out if I miss seeing her for a day, so I think that constitutes as being "over her". Right?).

Play rehearsal went really well. We got two complete run throughs of the show done, in full make up and costume. The costume just completes my whole Hattie look. I mean, I've been stalking around all evil-like since Tuesday night, but I got that costume on and there was no going back to being Angela (maybe subconsciously that's another reason why I didn't want to talk to Lain right then: I was in my Hattie mindset). It was quite fun.

Had some fun moments. For example, I'm working on achieving Advanced Wench status with the vial of poison down my bra. However, it's posing some of the same problems the scroll did, i.e. it likes to fall through. So when I had a moment, I grabbed it and told people I was out in the hall jumping around to make sure it didn't fall out again. After about five minutes (during which I gathered a bit of an audience) Lyndon came out and said "Will you get that out of your bra and give it to me so I can use it?" Insert giggles here. It was just so funny and so random! But Lyndon's a sweetie. He's gonna do some awesome things in theatre. I have him pegged to play Prince Charming next year if they do Cinderella. Britt's gonna be a stepsister. She won't be my (or Cinderella's) whore, but she'll be a whore. Which I guess is close enough. LoL, Lain can be the other stepsister and be my whore ;-)

After my music theory exam this morning, I went out to Great American Bagel for breakfast/lunch. Decided they have the absolute best veggie burgers in town. Yum. I'm so going back. So I had a relaxing morning there before running off to rehearsal.

Music theory kinda sucked. I can't sing and play at the same time under the best of circumstances, let alone when I have freakin' huge nails.

Yes, I do realize I wrote this entry in completely reverse chronological order. And each paragraph has gotten progressively smaller. But I don't care.

Jen still has my RENT CD.
