And Rick Thinks He Can Shop....
Wednesday, Jun. 04, 2003 - 4:47 pm

He's got nothing on me.

At Salvation Army: pair of black stretchy pants (that are the most comfortable things in the world) and a blue button up, three-quarter-length-sleeve blouse: $2.10

At Goodwill: a rocking hard core black shirt with a silver glitter dragon and flames on the front and lace-up sides: $2.10

At Bibles for Mexico: Green skirt with blue embroidery, black blouse with a nifty lace-up-type back thing (specific, aren't I?) and a pleather berret: $4.24

Total for the day? $6.44 for six items of clothing. She shops, she scores!

Okay, so backing up now to cover the rest of the week:

Sunday: The big event being, of course, graduation. My grandparents (the not-so-evil ones) showed up and gave me a $50 check and...a rainbow-colored afghan. How cool is that?! My other female cousin got a white one, but I got a nifty rainbow one. Of course, I doubt my grandparents understand the significance of it (Grandma probably thought I was disproportionately excited about it), but it's cool none the less.

Also cool was my mom offering to let me wear my great grandmother's cameo to graduation. I declined, afraid that it'd get broken (besides, it wouldn't exactly be visible under the stupid robe). So mom said that when I get married, or settle down with one person and have some sort of ceremony, she'll give it to me then. How cool is that? I'm so glad my mom is finally beginning to acknowledge the fact that I'm not going to end up marrying some guy someday (I should go hunt down the Something Positive comic from a few days back where Jhim and his mom had a similar conversation and give it to her...lol, I'm sure Mom'd like it)

And finally, Sunday's biggest event of all: Jungle. The school-sponsored all-night graduation party, for those who don't know. They took us to some country club in Grand Rapids and there was a cruise ship theme. So I had my palm read (by Ms. Essenburg from Pine Creek. My hand was confusing her to all hell, which was funny), my charicature drawn (badly), played laser tag (eh...boring), and won a personal coffee maker and huge duffle bag. Oh! And I attempted to be hypnotized. It didn't really work, since I was conscious the whole time, but I had fun. And some of his suggestions still worked (like having a lot of energy). It was definitely a good night (spent entirely with Nicole, since neither of us are close to any other seniors). After we were brought back home, we went out to Steak 'n' Shake for breakfast because we got certificates for $1 off any order...but we got horrible service and then, when we went to pay, found out we couldn't use the certificates 'cause they didn't have a manager's card or something. We were pissed. We were hoping that our meal would take us long enough that we could go to school and surprise everyone at the breakfast table...but we got done about an hour before school started for the rest of them, so we went home, slept for a few hours, then went in at lunch to take care of some business. Like returning all my text books so I could pick up my diploma, lol.

Monday: Um...besides going in to school, I don't think I did anything.... Oh! Wait, duh, I auditioned for Schoolhouse Rock Live in Grand Haven. And went shopping for clothes for said audition. I've had better auditions, but I did get a call back last night. I took Zack down there as well, though his audition definitely didn't go as well as we'd hoped, poor guy.

Clothing-wise I picked up a cropped black, white and silver striped top, a black three-quarter-length sleeve top and...a nifty gray snakeskin print skirt. I'm wearing that and the black blouse to work tomorrow. It's gonna rock.

Tuesday: Final GSA meeting, where we planned stuff for next year and the seniors passed on our duties to under classmen. So Jenny is now the official communications officer for the GSA.

Which brings us up to today. Aside from said shopping trip, I went to school for the last Drama Club meeting. Lyndon's secretary for next year, yea! And he and Jake both made it in to Vocalaires! Eek! It's so cool.

After Drama Club was BBYA, where I picked up a bunch of books to alleviate my boredom (hopefully I won't be going on another shopping trip this week, lol). Now I'm arguing about the merits of Hot Topic and my dog collar necklace with Rick. He doesn't like either and thinks he needs to teach me how to shop. ~shakes head~ I think he's just lived a seriously deprived life since he obviously doesn't understand the joys of thrift shopping.

Okay, finishing this up now so I can get ready for my call back. I find out later tonight if I make it or not ~crosses fingers~
