My mom asked me on Saturday if I have a girlfriend.

Some people would find this awkward. I was extremely impressed. I've only been out to her for a year and two months. In March last year, the woman was about to have a freak out. Now she's bringing up girlfriends in regular conversation.

I love my mom. I sent her an e-mal thanking her for it (because I had no idea how to say it). She was just completely nonchalant about it. It was so cool. I was telling her that, if I get the solo I want for the spring concert, I'm gonna have to plant someone in the audience to flirt with. And, to keep her from freaking out, I suggested Jake ;-) Then mom asked if I had any girl friends I could flirt with. I got flustered and started saying things like "Well...they're all in choir..." (complete lie but...what else was I going to tell my mom?!) And Mom just shrugged and said she meant a girlfriend. She hears me talk about Jake having a boyfriend, she just wondered if maybe I had a girlfriend.

Now I almost feel guilty for keeping my relationship with Rebecca a secret. I considered telling Mom about it in my e-mail last night, but I figured...you know, it's over and done with. It's not important any more. I'll let Mom know when my next relationship starts.

If it starts.

On a happier note: saw Jen downtown while I was waiting to be called in to sub for Dutch Dance. I ended up not having to dance. :-Þ

Would talk more, about things like working at the Mason Street Warehouse Theatre and Gramma Gail trying to convince my mom to either send me to a college with dorms or keep me at home, but it's late and I have that crummy AP test tomorrow :-Þ Also have the audition for the aforementioned solo. And I'm gonna go shopping for CD-Rs 'cause I found the karaoke MP3 of Elephant Love Song Medley so Jake and I can sing it at the last Cafe Apollo.

You'd think that people would have had enough of silly love songs. --Line in that song I used to always forget, and now we're all disproportionately happy when I remember.
