I think I'm getting over this whole newly-single thing. Really.

Went out yesterday morning to help Mrs. Skoglund. Spent the morning with kids who think 'in-text documentation' is a big word. I don't understand it, either. But I got donuts and 40 bucks out of the morning, so all is well.

Came home. Called Jake. Found out D&D for today is cancelled 'cause of April's crazy parents (she got off her grounding last night, but still can't do anything today...someone wanna explain that one?). Decided that since I had a shit load of money in my pockets, I needed to go out and spend it. Chicago was playing during the day (for once) so I invited Mom out to go see it with me ('cause seeing a movie by yourself is really depressing, and I didn't need to be even more depressed). I bought the tickets, she got our food. Then she dropped me off at the mall where I proceeded to loiter around with Britt and Jake for about five hours.

It was surprisingly fun.

Highlights of the day: Jake's lack of grasp on reality. I was telling him about Aaron, the guy who used to go to our school (before dropping out) and had a huge crush on me since Sophomore year, and would not let up. Jake's question: "So why didn't you ever go out with him?"

That provided us with laughs for the rest of the evening. That and our rather risque game of 'Would you like to buy a duck?' You have no idea how hard it is to play that game with only three people.

Also saw Rebecca's mom at the mall. Rebecca wasn't there (thank god), but her mom and the rest of the family was. We talked for a minute, then she had to go, saying "See you around," as she left. I smiled and said "yeah," then turned to Britt and Jake and said "Probably not." Gah.

Also saw Brad and April there. Yea! Loitered with them for awhile, and abused my bitter single priviliges to get hugs from everyone, lol. But I'm getting better. Really, I am.

Hit Claire's 'cause I needed to spend more money. Was severely dissapointed by the lack of rainbow-wear in there this time around. I found a bracelet and a necklace. I opted out on the necklace though 'cause it was friggin' huge. But now I have another bracelet. Yea.

I think I'm gonna have an Oscar-party tonight. I need to clean up the family room first though :-Þ But having a party (for at least part of the evening) would be awesome. You're all invited :-) Give me a call though, so I'll know if I can fit all of you into my house, lol. And dressing up...isn't required, but it'd be cool.

Yes, I'm an Oscar geek. For the last...I have no idea how many years. But for a long time I've dressed up all snazziily on Oscar night. Tony night as well. I curl up in the living room with my array of snacks and watch the ceremonies. Last year I actually managed to watch the whole thing. Yea me! Hopefully I'll be able to do that again this year.

Now I just need to figure out what I want to wear.... I could haul out my Red Dress, which would be appropriate for the movie theme...or my 20's gown, which would be appropriate for the movie I hope wins Best Picture...or I could go with the classic black dress.... Too many decisions!!!

Gonna go call people and clean now. Bah.
