Dancing with Straight Girls is Fun!
Seriously. At Dutch Dance tonight, whenever we were dancing in partners, no one would look each other in the eye. Does this strike no one else as strange?
Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 - 8:31 pm Maybe I've been an actor for too long, but it's been drummed into my head that whenever you're interracting with someone, you maintain eye contact at all times. However, I was lucky if I could get eye contact for a "Hiya!" I think looking in people's eyes makes it too personal or intimate or something. Whatever the issue is, I found it hilarious. If I was going to be around for another year, I'd drag Amanda or Rebecca into it with me so someone would look me in the fucking eye while I danced. I would drag Britt or Nicole with me, since even if they're on the other team they know the fundamentals of dance/acting, but I don't think they'd even touch a costume with a ten foot pole, let alone actually do these crazy dances, lol. Got my AP Am. Lit exam paper back today: 100%! You just don't do that in this class. I think the highest score I saw besides mine was a 97%. Laura was annoyed with me 'cause she was all proud over that score and then I come running in to rehearsal with my 100. ~happy dance~ I did not expect that at all. I would have been happy with a 'B.' Well, maybe not happy, but it's what I expected. Spent all of rehearsal sitting on the steps in the aisle next to Rebecca. ~shakes head at self~ I definitely don't think the "let's wait until after MIFA" thing is gonna last. And honestly, I'm not sure if I want it to, anymore. And there's not much going back: I've already gotten a question about it from Laura, lol. She told me tonight at Dutch Dance that she didn't want to pry but she wanted to know what the relationship between us was. I told her I wasn't exactly sure, and she shrugged it off, laughed and said we were very cute. ~shakes head again~ Not sure that's the adjective I want attached to me.... Anyway, tomorrow night is gonna be movie night at John's to show his mom that he's not hanging out with a bunch of psycho axe murderers. I was originally gonna catch a ride with Amanda, but now I'm taking Rebecca. And she made me promise to sit with her there, lol. Still have to do my Humanities homework. Bleh. But the class itself is fun. John, Emily, Laura, Me...we're gonna give poor Mrs. Stoel a heart attack. And those three actually all sit next to each other. I'm two rows away and a seat down from John :-( But we still talk to each other. I think Mrs. Stoel is gonna be shocked by the talkative me she's gonna be seeing this semester as opposed to the stubbornly-opinionated-but-otherwise-silent me she met in 10th grade. I'm still going to be stubbornly opinionated, but I can't be silent when I'm with my crew o' people. Okay, I think I'm gonna go do Humanities homework now...while I talk to Rick (look! more pluggage!). And try to come up with something controversial to do for March Festival. Hm... I'm thinking I'm going to bring my painting from last year with me to school and hope to divine inspiration from it. (My painting from last year, for those who don't know, features two Dutch girls kissing. You really can't imagine the full effect of that unless you've been to Holland and seen these cement Dutch kids in every front yard, but trust me, it's cool. And I painted some kick ass tulips for the background. Spent several nights downtown drawing tulips and freaking out tourists when they'd stand behind me to see what I was drawing and then see the two Dutch girls prominently in the center)
