They've Gone! It's All Over!

And so today my last high school play came to an end.

It felt like it ended last night, since that was my last performance as Rosencrantz. And it was an excellent performance. Amanda and I got everything right. I had one small blank out, but I recovered. Even got the tricky parts right. Like the whole "What's he doing? Talking. To himself?" etc. right. And I gave Jake and Danielle the right cue for the soldier scene.

In Rosencrantz's last speech, he's freaking out. He knows that he's about to die, so, understandably, he's about to have a huge freak out. Well, last night, I was honestly about to cry during the damn speech. I always get really worked up by that point, but last night it was hitting me that, I was about to say my final lines on that stage. And when I jumped off the back of the platform...I nearly started to cry. And then we went out for curtain call, and when the lights went down, instead of staying in line, Kim stepped over to me and put her arms around my shoulders to walk me off stage.

And that's about when I lost it.

The audience was packed with people I knew. My parents came again, my uncle who has never seen me in a play was there and (I didn't have any idea aobut this until I first stepped on stage, and didn't know for sure until about half way through the second act) Gramma Gail came!!! It was so cool.

Chris, however, did not. Next time I see him on MSN, and I have time to talk, he's gonna get bitched out unless he has a really good reason.

See, I went through a lot of emotional struggle with the knowledge that Chris was coming. Friday night I was freaking out 'cause Jake did not seem happy that Chris was gonna be there. Okay, and rightfully so. If I'd had a bad breakup, I wouldn't necesarily want her to come to my play. But then it almost seemed like he was mad at me for inviting Chris and, maybe even, still being friends with him. Jake isn't mad at me, he loves me, and I love him, but I was worried for a little while. But all the worrying was for naught 'cause he didn't freaking show, which pissed me off. As of 3 Saturday morning he was planning on coming, so what changed by 8 that night?!

We inverted the order of cast activities this time 'round. We had the party on Friday night, and the dinner on Saturday. Or tried to. We broke tradition and went to Steak 'n' Shake 'cause that's where people wanted to go (~shrug~), but we got absolutely no service. So we picked up and went to IHOP. However, because of the stupid Michigan Graduated license system, we had hardly any time there 'cause I was the only one who could drive after midnight! ~shakes head~ But, Jake and I realized that, starting this evening, we could dye our hair again. So we decided we needed to do that, and then Nicole and Zach got in on the act. So they, and April and Britt, came over after strike today and we all dyed our hair, with more or less good results. I'm not happy with my highlights (they never went blond because Xtreme FX bleach is crap), and Zach's hair is a kinda dingy blue but...Jake's hair is quite blond and Nicole's purple finally worked out. Tomorrow afternoon I might put some color in my now-orangy highlights. I'm thinking my green and turquois. If I can get them done in time for the choir concert tomorrow night. ~sigh~ My official last performance on WO's stage. But first I need to do a rehearsal afterschool for Les Mis staging, and then I'm helping Jake and Lyndon with some singing stuff 'cause they're both auditioning for Vocaliares next year. Jake needs help finding a song, and doing choral sightreading, and Lyndon, apparantly, can not read music. Don't ask me how he can be a choir kid and not read music, but that's what Jake's telling me. ~shrug~

Last night, for the first time in three weeks, I read a book that wasn't my script. At the moment, I only plan on touching my script again (for awhile, at least) to pull Nicole's note out of it (she didn't have money for flowers, so she just wrote notes, and she gave this to me out in the lobby after the show today, so I just stuck it in my script 'cause I was still carrying that around since I was the prompter). Then it's going on a shelf for a good, long time.

Wanna know my rose count for this show? 26. 12 from my parents, 12 from Gramma Gail, one from the Briertys and one from Amanda. And I got a ton of carnations as well. A bunch from my uncle, some from Laura's family...I'm not even gonna go into the whole list of people. 'Cause there are too many. But those are two of the ones that stick out. My uncle 'cause...well, it was nice to have family come see me and Laura's family 'cause I think her dad's funny, lol. He thinks I'm the consumate actor, or something. It's kinda cool. And I got fun notes on flowers from April (~poof~ a great show, oh my god!) and Jenny (again, with the obligatory #19 reference, lol).

And now...I'm tired. I need to pull out my costumes for tomorrow's dress rehearsal and then go to bed 'cause it's late.

5 days of school left. I'm not as excited as I should be....
